(5,645 posts)18. I was getting drafted in 69 so I joined for a better deal.
That was before the lottery. A few years ago I looked up the lottery results and found out I would have never been drafted for the years of the lottery. Oh well. I served with a bunch of good guys and met my future wife and saw some of the world.

I was drafted before the lottery started. Back then, it was up to the local draft board

he would have to, especially if he is talking about conflict with NK, Venezuela, Iran, Syria, etc
