Both of these may be good bets because Trump shares Bannon's views on enlightened capitalism (which actually seems to mean unrestrained capitalism), (white) nationalism, and Judeo-Christian values. He does believe that baby boomers took us more toward socialism during our lifetimes, which isn't true, of course. And Bannon, as well as many in the Trump administration, believe that we need an apocalyptic war against what he calls 'Islamo-fascism,' which basically is a way to see whether Yahweh, God or Allah is strongest.
A war with N. Korea wouldn't necessarily be 'over in a few days.' I don't know what you are thinking on that. The N. Koreans have a very militarized nation and have warred with us before. They weren't a pushover when they invaded S. Korea back in 1950, and they aren't now. In addition, China might take their side if Trump goes nuclear first. In which case, all bets are off, and we all might be sifting through ashes.
As to Putin, nature abhors a vacuum and what Putin is really about is trying to reinstate the might of the Tsarist Empire, or even put the old Soviet Union back together. If needless and stupid wars weaken the US too much, then Putin will step into that vacuum without the counterweight of US opposition.
As I say, I'm not advocating a tin-foil hat thing, but if we look at all these dots and connect them, then I definitely see some cause for alarm. Trump is evil. He does not care about the American people. He is profoundly ignorant. He needs a way to avoid being impeached for treason, breaking the emoluments clause of the Constitution, obstructing justice or some other things we don't even know about yet. He is a white nationalist whose dad was in the KKK. He is a misogynist. He is a xenophobe. He doesn't care about the very earth we live on. He is a sociopath. He does not care at all about the Constitution, his oath, or about the representative democracy of our republic.
If you're not concerned, and have cause not to be concerned, please talk me 'up' from this sense of impending doom. Because selfishly, I'd much rather not have the dogs of war march across this nation and sift through ashes and ruin when the war is over. That is unthinkable, or it WAS under Clinton, Bush and Obama. But sadly, it seems more an more 'thinkable' under Trump.
