This behavior is as old as Hollywood. One would have hoped for some 'evolution' in thinking, but apparently it hasn't happened.

A friend of mine did some acting - a few TV films and movies. She wasn't "top" billing, but most were major roles in the projects. She told me disturbing stories about both directors and some "A" and "B+" level actors that still pop to mind, every time I see them in a film.
