(35,454 posts)But have described myself as liberal. It seems to me progressive became the word when liberal was used as a smear/insult. There is no difference between what this liberal and the 'progressives' want except when it comes to what some term as identity politics. As far as I'm concerned civil rights, reproductive rights are as much an economic matter as anything could be. It seems this hideous admin is going to push rhythm for low-income women. So they can't afford the babies rhythm will produce or the birth control pills that would prevent unwanted pregnancies. Rock and hard place. Issues like that as well as hungry children, the potential for war, rights and freedom according to both the Constitution and a humanist point of view, prison & sentencing reform and on and on and on, concern me. Finally...justice in all matters for those who deserve it and those who don't deserve more than a prison cell. Real justice that money can't buy itself out of.
