as much as they may hate Trump on a personal level, both would vote for every policy that the repukes are trying to shove down our throats.

Hell. one of the reasons that Corker hates Trump is that Trump runs around tweeting that Corker helped with the Iran nuke deal... only he voted AGAINST it.
