146. Rosenstein SHOULD have been told, but might not have been

Improbable, hypothetical, pure speculation:

According to procedure Mueller was supposed to inform Rosenstein before running the final pass before the Grand Jury,

But if he didn’t? That’s an administrative issue, not a criminal one. A grand jury returned an indictment, full stop. Who was informed who, when, in the prosecutor’s office, is irrelevant to the charge itself or what the GJ found. It would be grounds for terminating Mueller, but not for dismissing the charges.

Again: just playing what-if.

Another what-if: What if they’re just giving Trump a weekend to stew? To think and panic and give himself away? To resign with dignity? That last part, of course, is predicated entirely on the assumption that anyone in DC believes Trump even understands the concept of dignity.
