That was a different time in this country. Political discourse had not been so degraded by spit-slinging bloviators like Limbaugh, et al. And, of course, back then the U.S. rethugs hadn't been 100% bought and paid for by the likes of the Mercers and Koch brothers with a Leninist-Nationalist Bannon cheering them on from the sidelines. I fully expect if this happens (and it probably will imminently), the rethugs will remain as supine as they've been throughout this entire disaster. They're all obviously more comfortable with the country being co-opted by Vlad Putin than they are with the idea they may be primaried. We're well and truly fucked. Get used to it. Expect worse.
