She was actually born in Hackensack, NJ on February 23, 1968 as 'Gladys Alberta Bugwurtz'. She graduated from Hackensack High School (Go Sacks!) in 1980, after being held back three grades because of her poor English skills. She then attended Bergen County Community College (Go Frogs!) for one year studying Cosmetology, but didn't think she could take the weightlessness of Space Travel. She then sought work in the "private sector" (as she called it) and attained employment as a book-end in the Hackensack Public Library.
AND THAT'S WHERE THE TRAIL ENDS!
Nothing is heard from her again until she met Donald Trump in 1999 at a fashion show in New York. She was then calling herself 'Melania Knauss' and told Trump she was a "Super Model", although there is no evidence of that. The rest - as they say in gold-digging circles - is history.
