shootings grows along with it. Today super fast, personal info via tech spread the word to a lot more people. 100 years ago there were shootings but the pony express, telegrams, newspapers were slow in getting the word out.

The difference between then and now is that that people actually want to own high powered weapons that 100 years ago were used only in wars, not to "protect your home" with. Therefore more people have much too powerful guns that kill a lot more people and kill them faster than ever possible in our country's history.

It is the availability of high powered guns, money buying politicians votes, and the macho man/testosterone fueled attitude that makes this happen and not the media's fault.
