(83 posts)Oswald may have been involved (probably not, he was on the second floor in the lunch room 90 seconds after the shooting), but Kennedy definitely was hit by a crossfire. He had at least 3 wounds - back, throat and head - and the autopsy found that the back wound did not connect up to the throat wound, which is the heart of the made-up magic bullet theory. After Kennedy's internal organs were removed, Dr. Hume stuck his finger into the back wound, and people present could see his finger extending the membrane lining of the chest cavity from behind. That means the back wound was caused by the bullet found on the stretcher later after it worked its way out. It also means the bullet that entered the back did not zig zag through Kennedy's throat and come out the front.
This also proves a conspiracy. The FBI had settled on the idea of 3 shots, and Kennedy had 3 wounds, so everything looked nice and tidy, until, at the last moment, it was discovered that one bullet from behind had struck the curb beneath the triple overpass, and a chip of cement had struck an observer there and caused his cheek to bleed. So if one shot missed, and there were 3, then 2 shots would have to account for all the wounding, and that is when Arlen Specter cooked up the incredible magic bullet theory.
