What is your opinion of the present Republican Party?

25. They have degenerated and deteriorated to appeal to the basest human instincts

Egged on by Fox Noise and National Hate Radio, they have let themselves be manipulated into a party that despises logic, empathy, knowledge or rationality. They don't completely lack cleverness. They despise poverty, but they don't mock it, as they manage to draw plenty of support from the ignorant poor that their policies have created/maintained.

They are a party of empty, appealing slogans with the short-term gratification and empty calories of Sugar Pops. Trump is not their embarrassment. He is their epitome.

The graver matter is what should be our opinion of ourselves that we, the people of the United States, not only let this happen, but are citizens of a country of which 40% or more of the citizenry finds the situation we are in not to be a predicament, but bliss?
