1. N.J. has barriers to buying a gun but the guy would be able to

N.J. requires a firearms license/ID, but the law says they have to be issued in 30 days and he had been planning it much longer.

I haven’t seen any indication of anything in his background that would have precluded that license being issued.

Reports are he planned the attack for almost a year, so unless there is something we don’t know yet about him there is nothing under N.J. law that would have prevented him from buying a gun and he had more than enough time to jump trough the hoops there (that is just an application and some waiting).
