(72,474 posts)over the election results, one year later. She was never Hillary's biggest fan to start with, but her admiration and respect for HRC grew and grew throughout the campaign, concurrent with her increasing loathing and revulsion for Trump.
The day after, she wasn't able to go in to work, she was so shattered. I went in, only to have to beg off before I had even seen my first patient. I knew I wasn't going to be able to make it through the day. I went home to Mrs. Aristus, and we spent the rest of that day consoling each other and trying to make sense of it all.
We voted in our local elections here in Washington (nothing of national consequence) on Tuesday, and she is still adamant that she will never vote for another Republican in her life. She keeps hoping that some obscure technicality will put HRC in her rightful place in the White House. But she is counting on engagement and voting to help right the awful wrong our country has suffered.
I call Mrs. Aristus my tigress; she makes a formidable enemy. Well, Republicans, you've got yourselves an enemy you should be afraid of. Grow some eyes in the back of your empty heads. Your day is coming. Mrs. Aristus will see to that...
