I'm a little over a year from 70 myself. Sometimes when I reflect on my life I am amazed at how much living I've done - how much I've experienced both good and bad, and the good definitely outweighs the bad. Guess that's all one can hope for.
When it comes to the state of our country, I don't worry that much because there's not a whole lot other than what I have always done to try to vote my ethics, principles and morals. I'm not as tolerant of the assholes as I used to be
I step away from DU every now and then because the news can be toxic these days. It's the shootings that bother me the most. I can't wrap my head around why we tolerate it. Used to be we'd tsk tsk all the unrest and killings in Israel/Palestine/Middle East, but now other countries are shaking their heads at what we've become.
