Mr. Mueller will hold a briefing. The briefing will take several hours, and run through a long PowerPoint deck.

Two dozen binders will be sitting on the table. The Special Prosecutor will weave a story of blackmail, money laundering, espionage, voter manipulation, bribery, and treason.

Caught in this web will be the President, Vice President, members of his cabinet, Senators, Congressmen, family members, and probably a Democrat or three.

As with Watergate, indictments will be handed down originating from multiple grand juries at the federal and state levels. Mueller will test the proposition that you can't indict a sitting President. If the courts rule that he can not, then the House of Representatives will have their case for impeachment wrapped up with a ribbon.

Mueller will have many more plea-bargains in his quiver. Confessions supported by written and recorded evidence will make it impossible for Republicans to avoid impeachment. A new President will be sworn in. If it is after January 2nd, 2019, her name may be Pelosi. If before, the name will depend on how deep the corruption and bribery has infected. It could be Hatch or Tillerson.

The nation will recover without a civil war. The damage will take years to heal, but the arc of history will continue to bend toward progressive values. This nightmare will be over.
