In reply to the discussion: Jesus..I knew Hannity fans were dumb, but this pretty far out. [View all]trc
(830 posts)66. I have also used the drip filter system
and found it wasteful and time consuming. Keurig uses a system where hot water is forced through the cup of grounds, some what like a french press, but much less mess. A personal choice on my part. I like that the Keurig is always ready to produce a cup of coffee and I don't need to worry about heating water separately. I bought the less expensive Keurig with the water tank on the side and have been very happy with it. The only draw back for me is the small amount of sediment left at the bottom of the cup, but I know its there and simply leave a tablespoon of undrunk coffee at the bottom of each cup. I do not use the K-cups because they are ridiculously expensive and incredibly waste generative.

I wanna smash my Keurig because it makes terrible coffee. Give me a regular coffee pot any day.

I find the regular Keurig expensive. Will look for the kind of machine you describe.

I was unaware. I withdraw my broad brush indictment of Keurig. The re-use container is "green".
