And each state is different, but SC election law would say in that first race that there is no remedy for the wrong ballot mistake in the split precinct, since there is no possible way to determine who would have voted or how.
The 55 late ballots (which were active military I believe) can be accepted since I understand they were mailed on time even though they were a day late arriving.
