(131,020 posts)instead of relying on our glorious righteousness and sense of fair play, which these days along with $2.50 will buy you a small frappucino at Startbucks. I hate it that this is true, but it is. It would be great if everybody played by the rules (I'm not sure they ever really did, but it's worse than ever now). But the GOP doesn't. They lie, cheat and steal and now they're not even trying to hide it. They're like, "Ha ha, liberals, look at what we're doing! We're gutting consumer protection, raping the environment, taxing the poor, and fuck you because you're too nice to stop us."
There are a few fighters on our side, and Al Franken is one of them, but he patted somebody's butt and acted like a dumb frat boy during a bawdy USO show and now he's not pure enough for us, so we'll run over him with our Big Bus of Righteousness and let the GOP have all the child molesters and grifters and white supremacists they want. But we'll feel good about ourselves.
