3. I had this flash of a really funny moment from the 1976 campaign when

the Repigs held their convention in Kansas City, MO.

The adult bookstore at 39th and Main had one of those neon-light marquees and they put up a 'Welcome, Republicans!" sign in this huge 60-point font.

It was up for about 12 hours before someone with the city made them take it down. IIRC, the KC Star got a photo of the marquee before it came down.
