80. Russian propaganda succeeds by creating confusion about what is true or not.

Russians are experts at this technique: flood the media with waves (in calculated, coordinated attacks) of negative messaging. Keep it coming, relentlessly. Make noise with it. Break down morale. Make it difficult to separate truth from the lie. Eventually, even a reasonable person can give in, if only to make the brain-fogging messaging stop.

The Russians screwed with our election (one of several national elections in which they’ve meddled, along with “Brexit”). They haven’t gone away. They’re still open for business. This is an arena of conflict in which they excel. And the Al Franken stories are rolling out in measured intervals, to keep up the heat.

I can see right through most propaganda, but even I’m feeling disappointed with Franken (although I IMPLORE him to stand fast). That’s how effective this technique really is in sowing doubt and distrust.
