(6,309 posts).... I understand your argument but the north is not quite the Garden of Eden you seem to think it is. The south is starting to trend Democratic. It is a long process and I won't be alive to see it completed, but to see it happening is enough for me. You keep insisting that you know the South, but the South you see, from what I can tell, is a south of the 1950's. It's 2017. What bothers me the most is the readiness of some people to write off millions of Democrats, and POC, who are as a majority, are Democrats, as collateral damage in their quest for the northern Utopia they crave so much. You mentioned it, but more in a "too bad for them" sort of way. For the record, I was born in the south, I live in the south, I'll die in the south and I love being here. I may have to suffer my share of fools, prejudice, and ignorance, but the one thing I don't have to suffer is having to look up to see the bottom of someone's nose. Well worth it.
