104. Happy birthday! Here's my story. It's about a young woman

who turned up at our door one day, brought here by one of our kids when she got locked out by a drunken mother.

It was 1 am and I'd never met her before. She ended up staying. She hadn't been able to graduate from high school, but she found a program at the local community college that would let her earn her GED and her AA at the same time. After that, she applied to UW. She got a waiver from FAFSA (federal financial aid) forms due to her abusive family situation, and worked at a part-time job and lived with us, so she graduated debt-free in June.

Now she's working in a job she loves. Woo-hoo!
