They want to be able to kick him the fuck out if they retake the Senate next year, and they won't want arguments of hypocrisy or any 'poor us Republicans, look how much the liburls hate us' bullshit.
If Al resigns, they can say Zero Tolerance...for us AND you, so Moore GOES.

Honestly that's the only explanation I've got other than we've made ourselves afraid of our own shadow (again).
