In reply to the discussion: OK. I'm a little dense. Why is recognizing Jerusalem as capital so terrible? [View all]Lint Head
(15,064 posts)67. Because Trump's Religous Bigots want Christ to return to the
"mount" so, you know, Armageddon and the coming of heaven on earth. Do you remember the big prayer orgy photo in The Oval Office with all the evangelical's greedy thieving greasy hands being laid on their Orange Jesus?
They have advocated this for decades. What is so absurd is that Christ is the Christian Messiah. Jews do not believe he is a Messiah. Ignorant bigots can't comprehend irony.
"The coming of Jesus to the Mount of Olives interrupts the battle. The major world coalitions are fighting for the city, with armies that extend 60 miles north to the Plain of Megiddo. Then, Jesus returns to defend Jerusalem; the armies of the world lay aside their differences to fight Him. But there is no contest; the King of Kings and Lord of Lords wins!"
"The present city is the place from which Jesus will reign, but it will be drastically changed. For example, even when Jesus returns to the Mount of Olives, a huge valley will be created to the north and the south. So the topography of the region will change, but Jerusalem will be exalted among the nations and Jesus will reign."

Trump just gave away an advantage to deal, for the USA, to pay back his religiously bigoted friends for getting out the vote of the Tea Party deplorables.
