(10,920 posts)There has been a rush to judgement here. And it is wrong to do so.
People are supposed to be innocent until proven guilty. They're supposed to get their day in court. Franken welcomed an investigation and the chance to clear his name. But we couldn't wait for due process. We had to cut his political throat now and toss his carcass to the media wolves.
When does this stop? Where does it end? Is every little bit of mud thrown at a sitting Democratic US senator going to get them tossed without due process?
I think a bunch of Democrats got suckered today and a number of senators showed me why they're not fit to serve in the oval office - because under the media heat, they lost their cool and their judgement, appeasing to the maddening crowd, rather than standing up for the processes we have in place to address this thoroughly, fairly and properly.
