4. The only hope I can find...

Is that I have never thought of life as being meaningless. I do think there is a point to living. I know I can't prove that, but I feel that there is.

I could have been born a cockroach instead of Dave Starsky. But cockroaches have tough lives, too. I think every living thing sees an arc in their existence. We start out with good times and then they go down to bad times. That is inevitable.

It seems like I have been expecting something like our current situation to happen my entire life. I also think that I have been prepared, in some weird way, to deal with it. You have, too.

One day, we are all tested. That test is coming. You're going to do okay.
