135. They're resigning or losing careers because they're serial abusers

But they're not going to jail. Some of these men abused, harassed, and even raped women, and they're not going to jail. Losing your job is not the end of your life. These are mostly very powerful, wealthy white men. Don't worry, they'll land on their feet. Weinstein was heinous, so were O'Reilly and Charlie Rose.

Most of them were "open secrets" which means people knew about it, but no one wanted to do anything or felt they couldn't because those powerful men could ruin your career for casting aspersions. Rose McGowan famously stated that Ben Affleck said "GODDAMNIT! I TOLD HIM TO STOP DOING THAT" when he was told of the accusations against Weinstein.

Even when everyone "secretly" knows about abusers, womens' stories are still discounted for years and years, and careers get ruined when they try to speak out about being on the receiving end of that abuse. That's only starting to change now. There's still a long way to go.

And again, I don't think Franken is a serial abuser.
