Sexual harassment is a serious issue. But at least have an ethics committee conduct an investigation. I think that would have been reasonable.

I also think that the Democratic Senators are naive to think that Franken's resignation will win points with voters. It certainly won't win over Republicans and swing voters usually care more about other issues. The big fear might have been whether liberals and feminists would react badly but I cannot see that happening. Would feminists really stop voting Democratic due to the accusations against Franken? At least the Democrats were taking the accusations seriously enough to contemplate an ethics committee which is way more than Republicans have done regarding the accusations against Trump.

I just don't see the reasoning behind their decision to throw Franken under the bus.
