(26,525 posts)I have also been thinking armed civil insurrection on some level is not out of the realm of possibiblity.
Along with Mueller's other incredible strategizing, I am confident he keeps this in mind: what the blowback and risk in taking down trump and his minions could look like. Thus, I believe that Mueller is preparing an airtight case in terms of hard evidence. We have heard from many* that the circumstantial evidence is there. I'm sure we here all see it and it can be downright frustrating that, with all of it, trump remains. But this is why, I believe; Mueller knows he has to have irrefutable, i.e., RECORDED evidence, to make this stick. And even with that, the deplorables will say "it's not trump's voice on the Access Hollywood tape," right?
Though no one wants armed insurrection, if that's what it takes to out the truth, then so be it. I just hope it is quickly quelled because it seems like civil wars are always the most bloody. Brother v. brother, as it were. I hope that the military and civilian patrols are sufficiently insulted by trump's verbal attacks that they remain on the side of the 68% who want trump out.
Definite moment of truth for this country, and for the experiment of democracy, itself.
