(12,533 posts)you know there's a Bad Wind blowing, a gale force coming directly from the Special Prosecutor's office. I fully expect the Trumpster will try firing Mueller first. Frankly, I have no confidence that our Republican-led Congress will do anything to counter this move, and I do think Trump is sufficiently stupid and arrogant enough to carry this out.
Why?
Because he doesn't give a shit about the country, only his ego. He will not go quietly into that Good Night. Rather, he will attempt to take down as many people and institutions as possible. When pundits warn of a Constitutional crisis, Trump and his supporters--think the odious Bannon--see an opportunity to bring about The Change they've dreamed about, suckered so many down and outers to buy into.
We're on the cusp of a something truly ugly.
How do we handle this? We fully support the team of prosecutors, the men and women of the FBI and those in the Intelligence Community that have been putting together the legal means of bringing these people down. We stand with the law. We exercise our legal means of protest, taking to the streets and calling for a National Strike if need be (this is something Painter suggested last week). We link arms with like-minded Republicans (Never Trumpers) and Independents, putting the partisan BS aside for another day. We support like-minded politicians in every campaign because the individual issues on which we may disagree are not as important as saving the country from a bunch of corrupt, fascist thugs.
We remember who we are, where we came from and on whose broad shoulders we stand. We stand, we fight, we win. Then we pick up the pieces and go on.
