(6,309 posts)I have noticed that after calling for Al Franken's resignation and being successful in that effort, Kristen Gillibrand is now, after the fact, using Twitter to call out Roy Moore and Donald Trump. Something she has declined to do before as far as I can tell. After successfully outing a prominent Democrat under highly suspect circumstances, then calling out Trump and Moore, seems to be a message to the public that she will be a fair and balanced candidate for a 2020 presidential run.
She led the call for Al franken's resignation even as more than a few republicans expressed their doubts as to Franken's accusers and the circumstances of the whole affair. I am also thoroughly convinced that the majority of Democrats who fell in line with Kristen gillibrand did so out of a fear of being perceived as soft on sexual assault on women rather than a genuine conviction of principle. I think more than a few of these people are privately regretting their actions.
