You used snarky snark to express the same thing. A small distinction.

You say you want radical change. So do I. My argument would be that if the country collapses, the change we'll get is not what anyone wants. The sort of change the Trumpsters, the Bannonites and their foreign cohorts have in mind is more aligned to a Mafia State.

We once had the luxury of being super-critical and hyper-skeptical of the FBI and Intelligence Communities. That's fine; it's the beauty of a free society. But that was then, this is now and in the now the country, our Democratic Republic is at risk, under attack, fighting for survival.

Ironically, the very institutions we (those of us left of center) were so critical of in the past are now standing between us and political/societal destruction. No one wins if the Trumpsters are successful. In this new scenario you're either a firefighter or an arsonist. There's no in-between. It's no secret why Fox News and Trump supporters are kicking and maligning the investigative agencies. They're feeling the heat and know what's coming.

I look forward to the day when we can turn our full attention to making the country better, more open, more equal, etc. But first we have to preserve the Nation and its framework. If that means aligning ourselves with strange bedfellows, then so be it. Because we'll survive to fight another day.
