(264 posts)60. Salem Massachusetts 17th Century
Living in what used to be called The Massachusets Bay Colony, I have thought about the witch trials in Salem (with their exemplary due process
) and I think what weve just seen is the Revenge of the Witches (and Warlocks). I am really disgusted with the way Al Franken (who himself called for an ethics committee probe into his own conduct) has been railroaded. I will be very reluctant to vote for any of those senators who participated in this travesty in any primary over the next three years.

You don't have to have Senators as presidential nominees...although there are some who are not

I would like to believe they know not what they do. I believe that is true for my senators,

I think what they're (still) trying to do is court moderate Republican voters.

If that is the case, what kind of president would they turn out to be? Out of touch, out of mind...

You'd have to start with getting a number of the senators who called for resignation to reconsider.

You hit every single point but this is the best one: By trivializing abuse they infantilize women

That was one tough decision. Withdrawing support for Cantwell and Murray not nearly so hard.

I had my reservations about Schumer- my reservations are being borne out- I don't like the guy.

Good point. Yeah, it could be Franken was stealing Schumer's thunder. And Gillibrand's.
