12. Why should I care?

Whoever we put up as a presidential candidate means nothing in the grand scheme of things. If the Democratic party truly wants to be a force for good, it needs to start rebuilding from the ground up. I grew up in solidly blue Democrat territory. After 16 years away I was shocked at the right wing swing of those I had grown up with. After almost another 16 years, I'm befuddled that the Democratic party still hasn't a clue that they are eroding and ignoring their base.
I'm encouraged that DSA candidates have been beating established Democrats on the local level. Mabey that will be the wakeup call.
