(21,925 posts)8. Is the heat getting to you?
I lived in Savannah for two years when I was a teen in the late '60s. Our house was on the corner of Bull Street and East 48th. One summer the heat and humidity got so bad I started have wheezing fits where I had trouble breathing. I wasn't used to it. And on certain days, the sickly sweet smell of the paper mills up the Savannah River was overpowering. But the city was very pretty and the people were generally okay. I guess now though there must be three or four times the population.
