(25,577 posts)19. There's a difference between an emergency exit and a secure exit.
Most theaters have extra exits to the parking lot to increase the speed of emptying the place and use them on a daily basis.
Alarmed doors are usually not meant for general/daily use and for situation when all exits and entrances need to be monitored closely.
Until the other day this was not deemed necessary in movie theaters.
