(30,885 posts)I've posted this elsewhere in the Sandusky / Paterno threads, but I got a real taste of the "cult of football" in the junior and senior years of my high school, in California.
I was basically a hippie in those days, so far into music and art and movies and all things creative that I never gave a rat's ass about sports...still don't, as an adult.
And if you didn't worship the football team, and especially the coach, who was a thug and a bully, you drew a sharp line in the sand.
I drew that line, I didn't give a shit.
The worst part of this "JoPa" nonsense is that he knew he was dying, he knew what he did, he had a chance to come clean, but he chose to die as he lived...a fucking coward.
There's no thermostat in Hell, Joe...right now is as cool as it's ever going to get.
