17. Practically speaking: predators

I have 6 chickens on my half acre. They have a 6’x6’ hen house that opens into a 12’x10’ fully enclosed pen that is covered and dry. When I’m home, I open the door to the enclosed pen so they can wander the whole half acre.

When I’m not here, they have their house and pen. Nothing gets in. If there wasn’t an enclosed pen, I’d find only feathers in a day or so. Hawks, coyotes, raccoons.
