(46,436 posts)39. I find it really interesting that he was studying neuroscience.
Did he sense that there was something wrong with his brain, no matter how "intelligent" he was? Was he trying to figure out what was going on inside his own mind?
In many other mass murders, there seems to have been some agenda, political or otherwise (McVeigh was anti-government; the Columbine kids had been bullied; the guy in Norway was an anti-Islamist), but from what we know so far, there seems to be no motive for this. Maybe he has a tumor or some other brain injury like Charles Whitman.
Hopefully, something can be found in his apartment to explain what otherwise seems like a totally senseless and unexplainable act.
