In reply to the discussion: NBC Launches Investigation Of Brian Williams [View all]99th_Monkey
(19,326 posts)32. De minimis
De minimis - a Latin expression meaning about minimal things, normally in the locutions de minimis non curat praetor ("The praetor does not concern himself with trifles"or de minimis non curat lex ("The law does not concern itself with trifles"
.[1][2] Queen Christina of Sweden (r.1633-1654) favoured the similar Latin adage, aquila non captat muscas (the eagle does not catch flies).[3]
A tempest in a teapot.
Much ado about nothing.
GWBush, Reagan, Hillary Clinton, Joe McCarthy, Mark Kirk, Dick Blumenthal, and a VERY long list of others
have lied about their experiences on/off the battlefield. To my knowledge NONE of them has had to "step down"
from their careers or their professions. Not. One.

Apparently, Willliams may have gotten mixed up on whether he got dysentery from Katrina, too.

LOL… If it's like the other "network" investigations, don't foresee real objective content..
