I still remember the Washington years. They were fun politically and broke up the (old) Daley machine. Son came along and developed a new model with contractors replacing the old ward organizations. That led to the financial problems now bubbling to the surface. Garcia can't solve those problems, no one can, but he would bring a breath of fresh air into Chicago.
