112. Most REAL Democrats these days are bought and paid for...

…lemmings who rarely speak out against the big banks, big Ag, big Pharma and other powerful corporate interests.

On DU, you can find all sorts of incredible fighting words about fighting corporate corruption, ending endless wars, helping the middle class and taking back our democracy from politicians who serve their corporate masters. Those are the words of REAL Democrats.

When is the last time you heard a Democrat passionately speaking about Citizens United or the fact that we are being spied on by our government? Where are the Democrats who denounce the neocons and their blood thirst for endless war? Who steps front and center and calls out these evil oil companies for their lies and their destruction of our planet? Where's the legislation that could fight the oil companies or the big banks?

There are a few lone voices, but basically--we hear next to nothing. They throw us some red meat when its election time, but other than that--most of our legislators do nothing about the systemic corruption that is destroying our democracy.

So, what the hell is a REAL Democrat these days? Frankly, 90 percent of Democrats on Capitol Hill appear to have been neutered years ago.

A REAL Democrat is someone who stands up for the middle class, isn't afraid to talk about making billionaires and millionaires pay fair taxes, and would nuke Citizens United from orbit. And they would speak passionately about these things and try to do something about it. That's a REAL Democrat, in my opinion.
