(170,443 posts)the U.S. progeny of the epitome of the Anglo-Saxon-originated culture - the Church of England (Anglican), and a contributor to what became the "AME" church originated here in Philadelphia through the Richard Allen (Methodist) - Absalom Jones (Episcopal) connection. And the practices are about as far away from Baptist-style "Fundamentalist" as one can get, being near-Catholic in terms of liturgy. And we have Wednesday "Bible Studies". If anything, within the non-fundie churches, the discussion tends to be more historical in nature, with an attempt to offer reflections on the modern manifestations of the section being looked at.
