no one has said anything about deportation, jailing, killing, etc., the stuff of ethnic cleansing.

Netanyahu did talk about revoking residency permits.

This is intended to limit their ability to enter other parts of Jerusalem where Arabs have carried out terrorist attacks. I don't agree that this is the right reaction to the terrorist attacks. There ought to be something less restrictive on so many people. It can be criticized on this basis.

But the idea that this is about ethnic cleansing is invented in your own mind (and supported by like-minded people who generally will believe any horrible motive attributed to Netanyahu. I know how exciting it would be for so many supporters of the Palestinian cause t see this erupt into an all-out civil war, and so how desirable it is to make everything sound as extreme as possible. but I think that would be bad.
