and the influence of the drug companies.. just my opinion.

I attending a public meeting to speak in favor of a new dispensary application for a shop a few miles outside of my town. Our nearest dispensary is about 20 miles away. More against than for, and our county approved legal pot with a 60% vote. You'd never know it at that meeting. The exaggerations and outright lies told by the speakers against the shop were mind boggling. The few of us who spoke in favor tried to inject some rational studies and statistics, but in the end the application for the shop was denied.
One man, a retired Denver cop, told the gathering that crime would absolutely, positively skyrocket if this shop opens. Right now our crime rate in the county is almost nil and nearly everyone we know smokes, only now we're not criminals. Ooops, there goes the crime rate.. down.
