69. I f I remember correctly, Zuccotti Park is privately owned

and that was the bit of red tape that allowed them to stay so long. However, they were not just left alone. They were surrounded by cops who would come storming in with sirens and lights. People were chased, tasered, pepper sprayed, arrested, harassed and belongings destroyed via bulldozer.

I watched them walk in and take the generators forcefully from them. Yanked them out. But that made little difference because the OWS people were pretty smart and hooked up bikes to generate power.

It is interesting to note that these non gun carrying protesters provided food for all, had no building, slept on ground and survived. THe Alaska contingent survived extreme cold.

The ones who tried to occupy land like Central Park or buildings were arrested. Many were arrested.

No one had guns or threatened to die there.
