the Santa Rita Mountains are where the Canadian company Rosemont Copper is pushing to get approval of a giant open-pit copper mine with tailings piles filling up whole valleys, with possibility of contaminating Tucson's watersheds and aquifers forever. I sure wish Congressman Grijalva could pull some strings and get the place declared a wilderness area.

I don't think this cat would want to stick around once the mining operation were to begin. I sure wouldn't want to.
