(29,503 posts)3. Increasingly, I'm pessimistic that Americans are going to wake up.
It's hard to believe that the way things are going is how they want them to go ... don't most people want their children to have better lives, if nobody else? Don't most children want their parents and grandparents to have resources available if needed to preserve a middle-class life, or the trappings of one?
