The double jeopardy challenge was really funny.

Allegheny County Judge Jeffrey Manning ordered those two documents and all other evidence to remain in his custody after declaring the mistrial so the evidence could be examined by both sides before a retrial scheduled to start April 11. That retrial is expected to be delayed because Orie's lawyer, William Costopoulos, told the judge he plans an appeal on double-jeopardy grounds.

One of the experts, Susan Abbey of Dallas, said one of the forged documents that prompted Manning to declare the mistrial contained "one of the worst cut-and-paste jobs" she had ever seen in her 14 years as a document and handwriting analyst.
