Unusual only because we don't do it regularly.

I'm not American and there is much about this culture that I believe is ridiculous. When I posted I was not actually recommending a course of action but responding with anger, appropriate anger. You think a lifetime in jail isn't cruel? Bullshit. The death penalty? The easy way out but also cruel. Having society support such filth until they shuffle off... yada yada yada.

I have ideas about how those who commit the most heinous offenses should be handled and they do not involve anything more dreadful than forcing them to support themselves and live according to what they earn, separate from the rest of society but in the company of those like them, with no further assistance in any form that they do not create for themselves in their little self-made paradise.
